Two years ago, in an effort to improve our environmental impact, we began to address the problem of plastic shavings inherent in sawing profiles to length.
Whenever we can, we replace sawing with guillotine cutting, which generates no chips, and for tubes, we use a rotating knife cutter.
To date, we have seen a reduction of over 50% in these chips. What's more, by June 2019, we'll be taking delivery of a new guillotine cutter, which will enable us to reduce these chips even further.
In addition to reducing our environmental impact, we have also noticed a real gain in terms of hearing comfort for our employees, since the guillotine cutters and rotary knives produce very little noise.
Last but not least, in certain cases, guillotine cutting enables us to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing cut to better satisfy our customers.
